What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a form of manual medicine which recognises the important link between the structure of the body and the way it functions. Osteopaths assist healing by focusing on how the skeleton, joints, muscles, nerves, circulation, connective tissue and internal organs function together as a holistic unit.

Using skilled evaluation, diagnosis and a wide range of hands-on techniques, osteopaths can identify important types of dysfunction in the body. Osteopathic treatment uses techniques such as stretching and massage for general treatment of soft tissues (muscles, tendons and ligaments) along with mobilisation and manipulation of specific joints and soft tissues using direct of indirect techniques.

David Liddiard

(M. Ost) Registered Osteopath

I am a highly experienced and dedicated ACC registered osteopath, striving to provide the greatest possible individualised treatment for your dysfunction.

After working in the health and fitness industry since 2009, I set out a goal of starting my own health and wellness approach clinic that set the standard for outstanding care for every individual.

In 2010 I realised my dream by starting my own practice with the mission to:

Transform your healthcare experience by providing an exceptional level of service and treatments.

Listen to every patients’ story to provide realistic lifestyle solutions to help in all areas of your life.

Provide a high level of physical hands on therapy that take into consideration a multitude of different factors that affect different aspects within your body.

Inform and give clear explanation about what is potentially going wrong, and importantly how I can help, how you can help yourself and how long we think it will take to get better.

Work within a multidisciplinary team of other like-minded talented practitioners among other practices, fulfilling the best possible outcome for the individual patient

Terenzo Bozzone

5x Triathlon World Champion

Being a professional triathlete I put my body through its paces on the daily. With the amount of training I push myself through there is often at least one minor issue being dealt with at any given time. Making sure these issues don’t evolve into anything more serious or cause compensatory patterns is crucial so I can maintain my training and get on the start line knowing my body is in good shape.

I was introduced to David Liddiard soon after I was in a near fatal bike crash in 2018 and the list of issues was too long to even talk about let alone treat in one session at the start. Some of the areas we spent time on were “Cranial” to help with the recovery from the concussion and make sure the skull was moving freely, “spinal” as my thoracic and ribs took a big hit, “Sacral” and work around my hips, calves and Achilles to make sure my running and cycling movements were not compromised and allowed to get back to their usual and efficient self.

Since starting to work with David I have been blown away by his knowledge and drive to continue learning about the body and new treatments. I have referred most of my family to him for treatments and all have been impressed.

David is very professional in how he goes about his work and also a great person to talk to. I feel very fortunate to have been introduced to him and I look forward to the continued work on my body that will help me achieve my goal of winning the Ironman World Championships.

Dr. Dan Plews

2018 Age Group IronMan World Champion

When it comes to performance, it’s essential to have an excellent support team around you. For the sport I’m involved in, Long Distance Triathlon, training counts and consistency is key. Having a support team to ensure this is paramount is imperative. David, “gets it”, and played (and still plays) an integral part in me getting to the start line in the best possible shape before the Ironman World Championships in 2018 (where I broke the age-group course record in 8 hours and 24 minutes). David takes a holistic approach to treatment, looking at not only getting you back up and training as quick as possible but also taking a global view, ensuring you can work on your weaknesses to keep in the game and injury-free. What’s more, as an athlete himself, having competed at Ironman, he knows how an athletes mind works, doing everything he can to ensure you can keep pursuing your goal.”
